Emmett Cohen, a prominent pianist who has traveled the history of jazz piano from stride style to contemporary, will appear as a leader trio. In 2011, he was selected as a finalist in the Thelonious Monk Competition and released his first album, In the Element. He has performed at major jazz festivals and famous clubs, and was a member of Christian McBride's visiting group. In 2019, he was the winner of the American Pianist Awards. Since March 2020 during the pandemic, he has been broadcasting “Live from Emmet's Place” every Monday from his home in Harlem.
