Avery Gagliano Premiere Series
October 13, 2024 | 3:30pm
Indiana History Center

Twenty three-year old Washington D.C. native Avery Gagliano is the first finalist to perform in the 2025 American Pianists Awards Premiere Series. Offering a thoughtfully-constructed series of solo pieces to open, she includes a piece specifically commissioned for the program. After intermission, the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra will join under the baton of Maestro Matthew Kraemer to perform Clara Schumann’s youthfully spirited Piano Concerto.

Avery made her first of three appearances on NPR’s “From the Top” at age 10 and began touring the world with the Lang Lang International Music Foundation’s Young Scholars Program shortly after. In 2020 she claimed First Prize of the 2020 National Chopin Piano Competition. Avery completed her bachelor’s degree at the Curtis Institute of Music in May 2024 and is studying with András Schiff at the Kronberg Academy in Germany for the 24/25 school year. She enjoys pop music and cooking in her free time.
