American Pianists Awards Premiere Series | Thomas Linger

Finalist Thomas Linger performs solo piano and trio as part the world's biggest jazz competition.

Experience the American Pianists Awards! IndyStar calls it the “Super Bowl of jazz,” and one of five finalists will win a prize valued over $200,000.

The Premiere Series features each finalist performing solo and trio sets at the Jazz Kitchen over the course of several months. Next up is Thomas Linger.

NYC-based Thomas is originally from Waynesville, North Carolina. In between his touring and teaching schedule, he pens and performs many of his own compositions.

All five finalists return to Indianapolis for more solo and trio performances at the Club Finals at The Cabaret on April 21, 2023. The next evening, April 22, 2023, the Gala Finals at Hilbert Circle Theatre include original arrangements performed with the Buselli-Wallarab Jazz Orchestra and duo performances with three-time Grammy® Award-winning vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant. The winner of the 2023 American Pianists Awards will be announced on stage at the conclusion of the evening.
