Celebrated musical polymath Aaron Diehl returns to the Gardner with a program that explores the ways African-American composers brought the sacred and the secular to their works, while forging their own distinctive and distinctly American sound.

Aaron Diehl is the winner of the 2011 American Pianists Awards.
