Sullivan Fortner

Thursday, April 27, 2023 | 8:00PM (GMT+1)

Due to his ingenuity and his stupendous technique, Sullivan Fortner is referred to by the international music press as either the "Oscar Peterson of the twenty-first century" or simply as the "future of jazz". Aside from superlative exaggerations, the New Orleans graduate of the renowned Manhattan School of Music is considered one of the hottest jazz piano acts of the moment. Even just in his mid-30s, Fortner plays regularly with jazz legends such as Dee Dee Bridgewater, Dianne Reeves, Wynton Marsalis, John Scofield or - as most recently in autumn 2021 at the BASF-Gesellschaftshaus - alongside Peter Bernstein. Now the audience can look forward to the Grammy winner's first solo performance in Ludwigshafen.
